WHA is proud to announce that our football team has been crowned champions of the 2026 MSC Charity Cup after an outstanding morning of competition at Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC.
The annual tournament, organised by MSC Cruises in support of Reuben’s Retreat, brought together leading travel industry businesses for a fantastic day of football, fundraising, and networking. The event once again highlighted the incredible generosity and community spirit that exists across the travel sector.
Led by captain Mark Caldicott, WHA progressed through a series of highly competitive fixtures against fellow travel industry teams to secure a place in the final against The Travel Network Group.
In a thrilling finale, WHA produced a remarkable comeback performance, recovering from 2-0 down to secure an emphatic 5-2 triumph and lift the MSC Charity Cup trophy. A standout display from Joe Stevens of Corpay proved decisive, with Stevens scoring an outstanding hat-trick to inspire the turnaround and help fire WHA to victory.
The win marks another memorable chapter for the tournament, which has become one of the travel industry’s standout charity events while raising significant funds for families supported by Reuben’s Retreat. The charity provides vital support for families who have experienced the loss of a child or who are caring for children with complex medical needs.
Speaking after the final whistle, the WHA team praised the organisers, supporters, and participating teams for creating such a successful event and helping raise awareness and funding for an incredibly worthwhile cause.
We would like to thank everyone involved in organising the tournament, all participating teams, and the supporters who helped make the day such a success. Most importantly, we are delighted to have played a part in supporting the amazing work carried out by Reuben’s Retreat.
